I need to make a confession….I LOVE avocado…if I could have avocado every day, 3 times a day I would…I have experimented with including it in a smoothie and I must say the end outcome is delish! The Mojo Smoothie helps in lubricating the joints, reducing the high blood pressure but also boos fertility (hence the name ;)) due to the monosatured oils in avocado.
What do you need:
For the smoothie
- 1 avocado (ideally organic but as it has thick skin should be ok non-organic)
- 10 cm long piece of organic cucumber
- 1 organic apple
- juice from half a lemon
- filtered water to preference
- ground almonds
- bee pollen
Peel and destone the avocado, core the apple and cut into quarters. Place all ingredients into a blender and blitz. The outcome should be this smooth, luxurious fairly thick smoothie which almost can be eaten with a spoon. Sprinkle some ground almonds and bee pollen for added antioxidant boost.

A quick note on goodness of ingredients
So why is this smoothie good for you? Well, as mentioned above the healthy fats in avocado lubricate joins, lower blood pressure and boost fertility. Loads of my friends however complain about the high content of fat… FAT (the good one) IS GOOD FOR US and it does not make you fatter! Otherwise by now I would have been pretty heavy:). The cucumber will cleanse and tone the intestines and hydrate due to the high water content, while the apples give those slow-release sugars that will improve heart health and regulate the body’s blood sugar levels.
